Marketing Strategy Of Stealth Marketing - 1737 Words

INTRODUCTION Did you know that very day we are imprinted with marketing and we don’t even realizing it! Marketers are eager to find new ways on how to get into your subconscious to sell their product or deliver their message. This is what is called â€Å"Stealth Marketing†. Stealth Marketing is any marketing strategy that advertises to consumers without them knowing it. It is used in product placement, celebrity endorsements, and ad agents. PRODUCT PLACEMNET Product placement is practice in which manufacturers of goods or providers of a service gain exposure by paying for them to be featured in movies and TV programming. In the earlier days producers would approach companies to use their products in their films. During production of E.T., Amblin Productions and Steven Spielberg approached Mars, Inc. about a possible tie-in between MM’s and the film. For water reason, Mars said â€Å"No† to their proposition. By declining this offer, Mars’ paved the way for Hershey’s Reese’s Pieces. Hershey agreed to do a tie-in between the movie and the candy after the film was released. A deal was contracted wherein Hershey Foods agreed to promote E.T. with $1 million of advertising: in return, Hershey could use E.T. in its own ads. (Mikkelson, 2011). The payoff was huge! Reese’s Pieces saw a reported 65% jump in profits just two weeks after E.T. premiered. Another example would be Risky Business, starring Tom Cruise. Walking Contradiction Free Essays

Now I know how parents may feel when their teenage kids are playing there depressing and gothic music at full blast at the middle of the night. It’s clear that most people’s opinions are that the lyrics featured in these gothic or metal bands are usually to do with some sort of bad language, death and violence. A feature most predominantly in many of Marilyn Manson’s songs. We will write a custom essay sample on Walking Contradiction or any similar topic only for you Order Now A quote reveals how people judge him for every circumstance â€Å"when a dude’s getting bullied and shoots up the school and they blame it on Marilyn, and the heroin† This reveals people’s attitude towards this individual. In any case people have their preferences and mine include Beegees. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not a golden oldie, but the best music had to have been made in the 70’s or 80’s. Perfectly good examples of these would have been Abba and Gloria Gaynor. Now neither of these people needed to promote sex, drugs and rock and roll to sell records, which is what seems to be happening today. Artists seem to swear more and more to sell more and more, now tell me is this right? Any ways don’t get me wrong not every artist is like that†¦ There are a handful of bands, which don’t need negative aspects to sell their music. One band in particular is Kool and the gang, now if I may claim to liking the classic band does that necessarily mean that I must write off every modern day music as some of you people do. All of you people seem to be determined to write off any artists that bear the name Eminem or Marilyn Manson, or any artists that swear or have some sort of opinion not matching yours. The truth about the matter is that you use these individuals as scapegoats, so that you have something to blame when your child has done something wrong or you have something to blame for the way your child behaves. The fact of the matter is that music is a way of expression, and that no matter how or why people complain about aspects of it the reality is that you are powerless to stop any kind of music from coming out. But most importantly you are powerless to stop your children from listening to it. At the end people can listen to whatever type of music, from anything from Bob Marley’s â€Å"No woman No cry† to a more modern day song such as Rage Against The Machine’s â€Å"Bullet in the head†. I personally have gotten into Metallica recently, just like how a vampire needs his blood, I admittedly need to listen to the enlightening and somewhat depressing lyrics, as well as the bone crunching and indoctrinating guitar riffs daily. Without these I am happy to say that I would be a lifeless, dull and uncaring individual (One which requires someone to master him as a puppet). But with all this said hate and love have been with us from the beginning of time, and they will continue to be with us until the end. I only ask that people take in the fact that drugs and violence have always been in lyrics and will forever remain so, the key thing is to learn to deal with it! Comparison Of Movies And Books Essay Example For Students

Comparison Of Movies And Books Essay Many people compare an English literary work to different movies of their time. An example of this is Pygmalion by Bernard Shaw. A story about a woman transformed into a spectacular beauty pushed into royalty, but never loses her identity, is very similar to a movie directed by Don Bluth called Anastasia. Bernard Shaws play Pygmalion and Don Bluths movie Anastasia, show that one can change a persons appearance, but the person deep within has never left the surface. The two have a large array of similarities and differences. What is also fascinating is that the background of both the English writer and director are very similar in how they began. I will compare both movie work and literary work of two exceptional people. Bernard Shaw was born in Dublin on July 26, 1856. He was essentially shy, yet created the persona of G.B.S. The showman, controversialist, satirist, critic, pundit, wit, intellectual buffoon and dramatist (http://www.sites.netscape.net/bernardshawinfo) . Shaw grew up in a family with a drunken father, whom worked in a corn mill, a mother whom left home when he was fourteen. Bernard never went to school past the age of fourteen. After his mother left his father had gotten worse (http://www.spartacus.schoonet.co.uk/jshaw.htm) . So he embarked on a journey to London in 1876, where he would become an active Socialist and a brilliant platform speaker. His heart was in writing and seven years later he wrote five unsuccessful novels. He was successful with his journalism; he contributed Pall Mall Gazette (http://www.sites.netscape.net/bernardshawinfo). One of the many people that influenced him in his newspaper career was William Stead. Shaw attended a lecture on nationalization that was gi ven by Henry George, which had a profound effect on his ideas of socialism. In the year of 1884 he joined the Fabian Society and in 1885 the Socialist League. Bernard gave a lecture on socialism on November 13th which would result in the Bloody Sunday Riot. Shaw was considered one of the best writers of his time. He wrote many plays such as Arms and the Man (1984), Satirizing romantic attitudes toward love and war. In 1897 The Devils Disciple, a play on the American Revolution, was produced with great success in New York City (http://www.sites.netscape.net/bernardshawinfo). He also wrote a play known as Pygmalion, which satirizes the English class system through the story of a cockney girls transformation into a lady at the hands of a speech professor. The movie My Fair Lady was produced to amplify what Pygmalion was all about. Of Shaws later plays, Saint Joan (1923) is the most memorable; it argues that Joan of Arc, had to be killed because the world was not yet ready for her. Amon g Shaws other plays are John Bulls Other Island (1940), The Doctors Dilemma, Fannys First Play, Back to Methuselah, The Apple Cart, Too True to Be Good, and The Intelligent Womans Guide to Socialism and Capitalism (http://www.spartacus.schoonet.co.uk/jshaw.htm). Bernard conducted a strong attack on the London Theatre and was closely associated with the intellectual revival of British theatre. His many plays fall into several categories: Plays pleasant, Unpleasant Comedies, chronic- plays metabiological Pentateuch. Don Bluth was born into a family of seven children in El Paso, Texas. After watching Snow white and the Seven Dwarfs he found his calling. From the age of six he could always be found drawing (http://www.movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc;id=180001539;cf=bios) . His family moved to Santa Monica, California, and upon graduation from high school he took his drawings to Walt Disney studios in Burbank. He accepted a position as an in betweener. He worked with Disney from 1955 through 1956 on the classic motion picture ?Sleeping Beauty?. He continued his education at Brigham Young University, studying English literature. In 1977, he returned to Disney Animation Department as an Animator. He was promoted within two years to Directing Animator and to Producer/ Director the following year. From 1971 to 1979 he worked on ? Robin Hood?, ? Winnie the Pooh and Tigger too?, ?The Rescuers? and the ?Small One? (http://www.movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc;id=180001539;cf=bios) . He has created many prestigious an imated films and laser disc video games. He was usually known for his animated movies that showed fun, laughter, togetherness, and teamwork. He is known to a lot of animators as an inspiration to their writing style and their joy for the job. Don was overly attached and dedicated to his work, and loved every bit of his day to day life (http://www.movies.yahoo.com/shop?d=hc;id=180001539;cf=bios). .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 , .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .postImageUrl , .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .centered-text-area { min-height: 80px; position: relative; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 , .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16:hover , .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16:visited , .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16:active { border:0!important; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .clearfix:after { content: ""; display: table; clear: both; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 { display: block; transition: background-color 250ms; webkit-transition: background-color 250ms; width: 100%; opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #95A5A6; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16:active , .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16:hover { opacity: 1; transition: opacity 250ms; webkit-transition: opacity 250ms; background-color: #2C3E50; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .centered-text-area { width: 100%; position: relative ; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .ctaText { border-bottom: 0 solid #fff; color: #2980B9; font-size: 16px; font-weight: bold; margin: 0; padding: 0; text-decoration: underline; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .postTitle { color: #FFFFFF; font-size: 16px; font-weight: 600; margin: 0; padding: 0; width: 100%; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .ctaButton { background-color: #7F8C8D!important; color: #2980B9; border: none; border-radius: 3px; box-shadow: none; font-size: 14px; font-weight: bold; line-height: 26px; moz-border-radius: 3px; text-align: center; text-decoration: none; text-shadow: none; width: 80px; min-height: 80px; background: url(https://artscolumbia.org/wp-content/plugins/intelly-related-posts/assets/images/simple-arrow.png)no-repeat; position: absolute; right: 0; top: 0; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16:hover .ctaButton { background-color: #34495E!important; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .centered-text { display: table; height: 80px; padding-left : 18px; top: 0; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16 .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16-content { display: table-cell; margin: 0; padding: 0; padding-right: 108px; position: relative; vertical-align: middle; width: 100%; } .u90dd02acde76ea94210486937dd45d16:after { content: ""; display: block; clear: both; } READ: Oedipus Review EssayPygmalion, a play written by Bernard Shaw tells the story of rags to riches. It begins with a young flower girl that is poor and she sells flowers to get by. A man that thinks she is repulsive approaches her. He bets a general that he would be able to change this despiteful young flower girl into a beautiful duchess. She goes to him to learn how to speak respectfully and etiquette. He decides not only will he help her but he will also change her into a duchess to fool the high society. She attends balls and parties to win over the rich that are present. Eliza doesnt feel right about what she has done, but it is to late. She has fallen in love with the s peech therapist and is overwhelmed with the life style that was given and created for her. She feels that the feeling that once made her whole is no longer there, she feels that she is no longer Eliza Doolittle but someone he has created. He doesnt want her to go because he loves her, but she doesnt feel that he really loves her. Unlike most stories this one did not end happily ever after. The movie Anastasia begins in a castle in London, where soldiers are attacking it. Anastasia is a young girl that is the duchess of London, she is shown away out of the castle along with her great aunt. As they pass through the passageways they are separated. A little boy placed her on a train to Russia. While on the ride she hit her head and got amnesia. Six years later while selling flowers she was approached by a young man, that asked her to pretend she was the duchess of London. If they could pull it off they could receive a large sum of money and she could live the high life. The queen, whom was her aunt, was giving a ball in search of her lost niece. So they attended, and were sent away because the queen was tired of being insulted by all of the people trying to fool her. Later on that night, they crept into her bedroom and demanded she see them. After talking to Anastasia for a while she realized she was the niece that she had lost so long ago. And they lived happily ever after. Bernard Shaw and Don Bluth are very similar to one another. These two men have many of things in common, at a young age both had found their calling. They had decided they would take jobs under big companies to advance their careers. Bluth and Shaw both wanted to revolutionize their fields of choice. They wanted to see play writting and animation in a new light. Like Bluth, Shaw had written and produced some of the top plays and movies. Pygmalion and Anastasia have a lot of similarities. The stories are both based on two women that are turned from rags to riches. At the beginning of both stori es, you are told that they sold flowers for a living. Both had dreams of making it big by having their own flower shops. The men that transformed them into duchess, in the end would soon become the love of their lives. They felt guilty for pretending they were something that they were not. They felt that they had lost their identity and wanted to go back to normal. Bluth and Shaw are not all together alike. They grew up in different parts of the world, with different family backgrounds. Shaw had a drunken father and a mother whom abandoned him. Bluth was born into a family of seven with no major problems. Bluth was given a chance at education, while Shaw left school at the age of fourteen. Their careers were different in the sense of the time they lived. Shaw in the 1800s to the middle 1900s and Bluth from the middle 1900s until now. Some of these differences are the settings, one in London and the other in Russia. In Anastasia, Anastasia starts out as a duchess, and is hit over the head and comes up with amnesia. She is then found and transformed back to her duchess state, while Eliza was from the beginning poor. While Anastasia was pushed into poverty because of her lose of memory. Named were some of the differences between Pygmalion and the movie Anastasia. Bernard Shaws Pygmalion and Don Bluths Anastasia exhibit that a persons appearance can be changed but they never lose their identity. Comparing a movie work to a literary work was very inspirational and interesting. Hopefully people will be able to except a person for whom they are, and not try to change their inner beings. Essay on research How Apple Watch Can Spot Heart Issues

Essay on research How Apple Watch Can Spot Heart Issues For more than a year, Apple Watch-based research was conducted by Stanford University in order to figure out whether the device can detect heart issues. The results appeared to be promising even though they can’t be completely accurate. 400,000 volunteers took part in the study but only 0.5 % of device users were warned by Apple Watch that their heart rhythms are irregular. Later on, medical practitioners revealed that 84 % of the notifications concerned episodes of atrial fibrillation, which are signs of the potential development of health issues. In other words, the technology appeared to be capable of avoiding an abundance of false positives, which are undoubtedly the main concern of the research. Besides, it appeared to be reliable enough for the volunteers to make a move and schedule a consultation with a doctor. Those who received alerts agreed to wear an ECG patch for a week and 34 % out of them did show irregularities. About 57 % of the volunteers who saw the warning consulted with a doctor. It’s important to note that the study used Apple Watches from Series 3 and earlier. Series 4 appeared somewhat later so with its built-in ECG it couldn’t be used for the research. The app was mainly aimed at periodic checks by means of the heart rate sensor for getting notified if something doesn’t function properly. The results that were revealed in the course of the study can’t be fully relied upon. While 84 % is a figure high enough to make the findings trustworthy, a sixth of those who received warning notifications might have no grounds for concern. Besides, it is also possible that people who have atrial fibrillation didn’t receive a notification. The good thing is that the results of testing the Apple Watch device are positive and, hopefully, Apple will continue pushing deeper in the health service.

Free Essays on America During The 1960s

America During The 1960’s The 1960’s were a time of peace, love, riots, assassinations, and an unpopular war. The decade began under the Cold War with the Soviet Union. John F. Kennedy gave hope to many. Free speech, civil rights, women and peace movements helped bring the American society toward progress. By the end of the decade, over 500,000 Americans had been sent to the war in Vietnam which was fought for the struggle for equality and left the nation divided. Bay of Pigs On April 17th 1961, the invasion of Cuba at the Bay of Pigs began. Kennedy was convinced that Fidel Castro lacked support from the Cuban people. So Kennedy allowed the invasion to go through. Little did he know the Cubans were well prepared. Within seventy-two hours of invasion, 1500 men were defeated by the Cubans. By the last day of the invasion, a total of 114 men were killed while thirty-six died as prisoners in Cuban cells. The failure of the invasion led to the poor judgment of Kennedy along with the CIA (Central Intelligence Agency). Cuban Missile Crisis With all the tension already from the 1961 Cuban invasion, Kennedy found out that Premier Khrushchev had placed weapons in Cuba. Kennedy called a meeting with a group of his closest advisors along with his brother Robert, the attorney general. On October 22, 1962, Kennedy announced the presence of the Soviet missile launch pads to the nation. JFK Assassination On the morning of November 22, 1963, Kennedy arrived at Dallas, Texas approximately 11:40 AM and was welcomed by the people of the city. Along with Kennedy was Governor John Connelly and their wives as they were about to be driven to the Trade Mart where Kennedy was scheduled to make a speech between liberal and conservative elements within the American Democratic party. Still five minutes away from the Trade Mart, his car was turning down Elm Street. While Kennedy was acknowledging everyone, several loud noises sounding like firecracker... The Christina Commonwelath - analysis and criticism to this little Essay

The Christina Commonwelath - analysis and criticism to this little book by John Eliot - Essay Example (Zakai, 133-151) Perhaps more than anything else, Eliot’s work and its concurrent ideology denounced the interregnum of the Crown with the result that three years following its publication The Christian Commonwealth was banned in England. (Holstun, 128-153) Although Eliot’s work takes a definite position with respect to Puritan ideology of the perfect state it is prefaced by a position against the monarchy. By taking this position in the preface to The Christian Commonwealth Eliot introduces a position against the interregnum of the Crown in such a way that is far more controversial than the Puritanical theocracy embodied in the main part of his book. Eliot’s states his opposition to the monarchy in his preface as follows: â€Å"Much is spoken of the rightful Heir of the Crown of England, and the unjustice of casting out the right Heir: but Christ is the only right Heir of the Crown of England, and all other Nations also.† (Eliot) In his preface Eliot quotes the scriptures at various intervals to support his contention that the best model of human ordinance and government is to be found in the Bible rather than by reference to earthly state nations. The preface is laden with Puritan theocracy and puts forth the concept that it is God who truly governs and protects those who believe in him. Eliot goes on to urge that true guidance should come from God and urges as follows: â€Å"I do beseech those chosen, and holy and faith Saints, who by Councils at Home, or by Wars in the field, have fought the Lords Battels against Antichrist, and have carried on the Cause of Christ hitherunto, That you would now set the Crown of England upon the head of Christ, whose only true inheritance it is, by the gift of his father (1) â€Å" Let him be your JUDGE, let him be your LAW – Giver, Let him be your KING. Take the pattern and
